Active Scholars is proud of our entire staff. We’re a combination of experienced teachers, coaches and student-athletes. Our instructors follow curriculums that have been designed and created to optimize children's learning and development. We are all fully prepared and trained to care for campers.

Christa Eniojukan

Program Director & Founder

As a certified teacher with over 13 years of experience, Christa has passionately promoted math and science education in the inner cities. She now transitions to instilling that thirst for knowledge to as many children as possible, through Active Scholars, using a proven curriculum that combines S.T.E.M. learning and sports training.

Christa is also the first women’s basketball head coach for the Ridgebacks at Ontario Tech University (formerly UOIT), who commenced their inaugural season in the fall of 2019. Previously, in addition to teaching, Christa served as a Team Ontario head coach for 4 years as well as head coach of the Durham Elite prep team. In just two seasons at Durham Elite, the program graduated six players into NCAA Division 1 programs and two players into USport programs. Throughout her coaching career, Christa has implemented the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model to her coaching and has assisted others within the basketball community to do so as well. She is a strong advocate for helping athletes become better students and grow as people who have a positive influence on society.

As a mother of two children, who love physical activity and to learn, Christa has had the desire, over the years, to create programming that combines education and sports. This combination will benefit today’s youth immensely, as it will help prepare them for the ever-changing world, fuelled by technological advancements based on S.T.E.M., while instilling the values of physical activity, health consciousness, and teamwork through sports training.
