S.T.E.M. CURRICULUM
Robotics - Robots are designed to make our lives easier by emulating the simplest of movements or even completing very complicated tasks. Our Scholars will get to experience the challenging, yet exciting adventure of building and programming their own robots to perform many different functions. With the use of Lego BOOST and Sphero's campers will be able to try numerous building challenges, each with a different level of difficulty to stimulate the engineer in everyone.
Game Making/Coding - In our increasingly digital world, coding and programming are becoming progressively relevant and popular. As a part of our S.T.E.M. curriculum, campers will get an introduction into the world of coding and programming by designing and creating their own game. Our Scholars will get to explore the endless possibilities of game programming.
Music - Scholars will tap into their musically creative side by creating and exploring musical sounds in a variety of different ways. They will engage in the production of music through beat making, songwriting, recording and editing videos.
The Science of Sports - There is more than meets the eye when it comes to sports, and our Scholars will learn about all the math, science and technology that is used in sports today.
STEAM - By combining S.T.E.M. and art, we encourage our Scholars to express themselves and push the boundaries of their imagination. Campers will be able to incorporate their artistic side into different S.T.E.M. activities such as electrical circuit designs, movie/film making and many more. Think outside the box and be creARTive at Active Scholars!
Electricity - With the newest addition to our S.T.E.M. curriculum, our Scholars will have the ability to harness the power of electricity. By building a variety of different circuits and learning new vocabulary, our Scholars will understand the importance of not only electricity, but other forms of energy in our daily lives.
Engineering - From rockets and suspension bridges to windmills, our Scholars put on their engineering caps for this fun-packed week of learning and doing, which will provide a fundamental understanding about engineering concepts in a hands-on way.
Media Design - By leveraging new and emerging technologies such as Canva and Green Screen, our Scholars will engage in fun-packed graphic and other media design sessions. We are excited to add Cricuts to our design lessons.
